James Dennis’ Coffee House is a family-operated Blue Mountain coffee farm and guesthouse located at around 4,000 feet in Section, Portland. Established over a century ago by the Honorable James Dennis, the estate remains in his family, with current operations run by descendants. Visitors can enjoy immersive “cowboy-style” coffee roasting in a Dutch pot over an open wood fire, roast their own beans, and savor a freshly brewed cup—experiencing the full bean-to-cup process.
The coffee produced is 100% Blue Mountain Arabica, grown, processed, and dried on-site. The venue also offers rustic overnight lodging and hearty local meals cooked over open fire, featuring mountain-fresh beans, dumplings, plantain, okra, stew, and saltfish. Guided farm walks and hikes to nearby waterfalls and plantation trails are also available. The operation is informal and intimate—ideal for travelers seeking an authentic, hands-on coffee experience away from commercial tours. Accessibility requires travel on narrow mountain roads; coordination via phone or guide (like family member Oraine) is recommended
