At Caribbean Aviation Training Center (CATC), our mission is to provide top-tier flight training, ensuring students graduate as skilled and confident pilots. Located at Tinson Pen Aerodrome in Kingston, Jamaica, CATC offers a unique environment where students train in real-world conditions, including controlled airspace near Norman Manley International Airport and Jamaica’s dynamic weather.
Founded by Captain Errol L. Stewart, a former Jamaica Defence Force air wing officer, CATC began operations in 2001 and has grown into Jamaica’s premier flight school. It was approved by the Cessna Pilot Center in 2000 and recognized as an Aviation Training Organization by the Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority in 2001. CATC became an independent flight school in 2018 and has earned prestigious accolades including the Cessna Diamond and Platinum Awards for excellence in flight training.
Students benefit from proximity to diverse airfields and large nearby training areas, allowing for efficient and varied flight experience. The wide range of airports across Jamaica provides excellent opportunities for cross-country and time-building flights, essential for commercial licensing. Training includes real-life decision-making in diverse weather—preparing students for professional aviation demands.
Kingston offers a vibrant lifestyle with cultural landmarks, entertainment, and a high quality of life, making it an ideal place to live while pursuing flight training. With global demand for pilots at an all-time high and expected to rise further in the next 5–8 years, there’s never been a better time to begin an aviation career.
Whether you're starting your journey or advancing your skills, CATC is committed to delivering world-class aviation education in a supportive and challenging environment. We welcome aspiring pilots to visit our campus and take the first step toward an exciting and rewarding career in aviation.
