Sunshine Palace, the Portmore, St Catherine movie theatre for the Palace Amusement Company opened its doors to moviegoers today, July 24.
The cinema opens with the highly-anticipated Disney’s blockbuster, The Lion King - which is a remake of the 1994 animated musical.
The Lion returns with a star-studded cast, including Grammy winners Beyonce Knowles, Seth Rogen and Donald Glover; Academy Award winners Chiwetel Efiofor and James Earl Jones who reprises his role as Musafa from the original film; and Academy Award nominee Alfre Woodward.
“The Disney blockbuster The lion King will now be integrally tied to the history of Sunshine Palace as the showcase event for the season,” Palace Amusement said in its publication ‘This Week on Screen’.
