Big Yard Music Group, is a name synonymous with excellence, one of the best-selling Reggae artists to date, superb artist management, mastermind producers, and an environment suited for the making of chart topping hits. Big Yard Music Group was founded in 1996 by Robert Livingston. Former partner of Big Yard, recording artist Shaggy, gained wide-spread individual success and Livingston knew it would only be fleeting if the Group didn’t start to think in terms of legacy. The birth of Big Yard was the first step on the way to creating a lasting vision for the Reggae genre. The goal of Big Yard Music Group is to create a central space of opportunity. The studio not only provides for the technical side of music production, but it also nurtures the creativity of promising new artists and producers. Big Yard is currently based in Kingston, Jamaica and is well known as one of the industry’s premier recording studios completely outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment and a highly trained staff.

Though initially brought to fame in the early 1990’s by hits like “Big Up” and “Oh Carolina”, Shaggy later continued to rocket the international Reggae charts with songs like “Boombastic”, “It Wasn’t Me” and “Angel”. The Grammy-winner openly refers to Big Yard Music Group as the reason for his unparalleled success. Big Yard is also home to an impressive roster of talent that is always in high demand.

In addition to releasing albums and singles featuring their own talent, Big Yard also partners with VP Records, the largest Caribbean music distributor, on its Riddim Driven series. Created by the Big Yard family of producers, the series features acts such as Morgan Heritage, Elephant Man, Voicemail, Bounty Killa, Tanto Metro & Devonte, and Richie Spice. The “My Baby” riddim was another hit, featuring Kiprich’s “Telephone Ting”, Shaggy and Olivia’s hit song "Wild 2nite" of Wild 2 Nite” riddim and Jamaica’s #1 radio hit “Bun Him” by Macka Diamond featuring Blacker. Additionally, to join the hit list out of the 'Big Yard' is "Church Heathen" by Shaggy on Heathen Riddim which penetrated world's core reggae charts and the club scenes.

Pulling on over decades of achievement and industry experience, grooming new talent and continuing to make hits, Big Yard Music is focusing its energy on community and taking another step closer to its legacy. With Robert’s eye for opportunity, the music industry will have no doubt that “the world is one Big Yard and this label is its playground”
