5 x Freediving World Record Holder
David Lee is a Jamaican-born underwater photographer, cinematographer, and ocean explorer whose work blends unmatched breath control, decades of marine experience, and a cinematic eye for detail. With over 40 years of immersion in the ocean—both literally and professionally—David has developed a distinct ability to capture intimate and powerful moments in the marine world, using film to inspire, educate, and advocate for the planet’s fragile underwater ecosystems.
A five-time world record holder in the extreme sport of unassisted freediving, David reached depths of up to 65 meters without fins or breathing equipment—pushing human limits while gaining a unique vantage point into the ocean’s soul. This mastery of breath-hold diving, has shaped his distinctive approach to underwater filmmaking.
David’s career spans a rich mix of creative and executive leadership. From 2006 to 2021, he served as Managing Director of Alligator Head Jamaica Ltd., overseeing a private five-star, four-villa estate where he managed a team of 21 and set new standards in luxury guest experience. Prior to that, he co-founded and led Dekal Wireless Jamaica Ltd.—pioneering Jamaica’s first nationwide WiFi network, which was later acquired by Cable & Wireless Communications.
Currently, David and his partner Stefanie operate a thriving portfolio of eco-conscious vacation cottages in Port Antonio, Jamaica. www.SearenityJamaica.com combines his business acumen with his passion for showcasing Jamaica’s untouched natural beauty—offering guests a chance to reconnect with nature while supporting local communities and sustainable tourism.
Through his lens, David invites audiences into a rarely seen world—where silence, stillness, and strength coexist below the surface.
