The Cari-Med & Kirk Distributors Foundation, established in 2007, is a registered charitable organization in Jamaica dedicated to fostering social and economic development through strategic investments in education, health, and community building. As the philanthropic arm of Cari-Med Ltd. and Kirk Distributors Ltd., the Foundation channels resources and expertise to uplift underserved communities across the island.

 

In education, the Foundation emphasizes early childhood development, supporting initiatives like the construction of the Evelyn Mitchell Infant School Centre of Excellence and the refurbishment of facilities such as Burke’s Basic School and Brandon Hill Primary's computer lab. These projects aim to provide quality learning environments for young Jamaicans.

 

Healthcare initiatives include donations of medical equipment to institutions like the Black River Hospital and ongoing support for the Hope Institute, the Caribbean's sole palliative care center for terminally ill cancer patients. The Foundation also aids the Port Antonio Infirmary, reflecting its commitment to enhancing healthcare services for vulnerable populations.

 

Community development efforts are evident in the Foundation's support for the Open Arms Drop-In Centre, offering shelter and rehabilitation services to homeless men in Kingston. Additionally, the Foundation actively participates in disaster relief, exemplified by its $4.5 million donation to Food for the Poor for Hurricane Beryl relief efforts in July 2024.
