Woman Inc. is a nonprofit, non-governmental organization based in Kingston, Jamaica, dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence, rape, incest, sexual harassment, and human trafficking. Founded in 1984, the organization provides crisis intervention, counselling, shelter services, and public education aimed at reducing gender-based violence.

 

The organization operates Jamaica’s longest-established crisis shelter and provides confidential counselling and a 24-hour hotline to assist victims of abuse. It also connects survivors with healthcare providers, law enforcement, legal assistance, and social support services.

 

Woman Inc. actively conducts training programs, workshops, and awareness campaigns in schools, communities, and institutions to promote gender equality and prevent violence against women and girls. The organization also advocates for legislative reform and collaborates with government and international agencies to strengthen protection and support systems.
