Environmental Defenders Ja is an environmental advocacy initiative focused on promoting environmental justice, public participation, and the protection of Jamaica’s natural resources. Operating through educational outreach and awareness campaigns, the project supports individuals and communities involved in environmental protection efforts while encouraging stronger accountability and transparency in environmental decision-making. Led by the Jamaica Environment Trust and supported through international environmental funding initiatives, Environmental Defenders Ja works to strengthen public understanding of environmental rights and civic engagement. Through podcasts, webinars, research initiatives, and community discussions, the organization creates platforms for dialogue surrounding conservation, sustainability, and environmental governance within Jamaica and the wider Caribbean region.
