HelpAge International is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of older people by promoting their rights, wellbeing, and economic security. Founded in 1983, the organization operates worldwide and maintains a regional office in Kingston, Jamaica, serving the Caribbean region.

 

The Jamaica office works with government agencies, NGOs, and community partners to implement programs focused on healthcare access, income security, disaster preparedness, and social inclusion. The organization advocates for policies that protect older people’s rights and supports community-based initiatives that promote healthy ageing and independence.

 

HelpAge also provides emergency assistance and supports older people affected by natural disasters and economic hardship. Through research, advocacy, and development programs, HelpAge International contributes to strengthening social protection systems and improving quality of life for vulnerable older populations in Jamaica and throughout the Caribbean region.
