The Cari-Med & Kirk Distributors Foundation is a charitable organization registered under the laws of Jamaica. The Foundation seeks to strengthen the philanthropic activities of Cari-Med Ltd. and its sister company Kirk Distributors Limited. Our mission is to support Jamaica’s social and economic development by investing in activities related to education, health and community building.

Our work is driven by the recognition that voluntary initiatives and public-private partnerships are an innovative and pragmatic means of contributing to national welfare. We therefore seek to mobilize resources among our local and international partners to address some of the pressing needs relating to health, education and community development in Jamaica.

Our objectives are to:

address the shortage of quality public spaces in early childhood education
support the delivery of quality programmes and services in the education (focusing on early childhood) and health sectors and provide general assistance to community development/sport related activities.

 COMMUNITY
At Cari-Med, we believe that communities are the foundation of our society, and that issues such as crime and violence must be tackled at that level. The Cari-Med Foundation is therefore very responsive to well-presented requests for funding of community-related projects.

The Foundation also supports other projects such as the Open Arms Drop in Centre on Windward Road in Kingston, on an ongoing basis. The Centre offers residential facilities to approximately seventy homeless men, and feeds at least fifty persons per month.

In addition to providing three meals per day, the Centre also assists clients with clothing, personal hygiene care, mental health care as well as skills training and job preparation.

We believe that Jamaica’s future prosperity depends on educating our young people, now. At the Cari-Med & Kirk Distributors Foundation, we give of both our time and resources to strengthen education. Our programmes include provision of infrastructure, Adopt-A-School projects, book drives and support for school development. Together with our partners in the public and private sectors we are committed to making quality early childhood education more accessible to children all over Jamaica.
