Ahhh… Ras Natango Gallery & Garden is a family-run eco-art destination perched about 2,000 ft above Montego Bay in Camrose, St. James. Founded in 1988 by self-taught artist Ian “Ras Natango” Williams, the gallery features his vibrant acrylic paintings—now housed in RIU hotels and private collections worldwide—along with works by his son Ayale and other Jamaican creatives.
The terraced botanical garden, transformed from a rocky hillside, showcases over 50 fern species, flowering shrubs, koi ponds, small waterfalls—and provides habitat to 18 endemic and Jamaica’s national hummingbird, the Doctor Bird
Visitors enjoy guided nature tours, bird feeding experiences, art workshops, a juice bar, gift shop, and can host intimate weddings (up to 50 persons).
Operated mainly by Tamika, who ensures a community-focused eco-tourism vision, the site also offers lunch, refreshments, and transport arrangements. The venue holds approval from Jamaica Tourist Board and TPDCO, employs local youth, and fosters environmental education and sustainable employment.
