Tinson Pen Aerodrome is the largest of Jamaica's three domestic aerodromes, situated approximately 21 km northwest of Kingston's city center. It features a 4,300 ft x 100 ft asphalt runway (14/32) suitable for various general aviation operations.
The aerodrome operates daily from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and provides Air Traffic Flight Information Services (AFIS) to Visual Flight Rules (VFR) aircraft operating at or below 3,500 feet above mean sea level within specified lateral limits. Services include fueling (100LL), landing and parking fees, and ground transportation options like taxis and buses.
While passenger flights are limited, the facility supports flight training schools, aircraft maintenance, and private aviation activities. Notably, Tinson Pen is scheduled for relocation to Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) as part of the government's plan to expand the Port of Kingston.
